Mr. Richard James Roberts, 79, passed away Monday, October 14, 2024. He was born June 15, 1945 in Surry County to the late William Roberts and Harriett Priscilla Kimmer Roberts. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six sisters and four brothers. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Marie Shore Roberts; his daughter, Angela (David) Greene; granddaughters, Olivia (Josh) Tucker, Emma Greene; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Roberts was a member of North Oak Ridge Baptist Church. Richard enjoyed mowing his lawn, watching racing, and he loved watching old westerns, especially “Gun Smoke”. The family will receive friends, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, Saturday, October 19, 2024 at North Oak Ridge Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Phillip Link officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Roberts will be available for viewing Thursday and Friday from 8:00 AM until 4:30 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to North Oak Ridge Baptist Church, 2504 N. Oak Ridge Church Road, Boonville, NC. Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville is serving the Roberts family.
