Richard Robinson

Richard Robinson better known as "Richie", or "Pops" to his children & "Dada" to his grandchildren was called home to be with our Heavenly Father on February 15th, 2023.
Richie was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on September 4th, 1960. He graduated Technical High School where he found his passion to create, construct, and build homes. He was a jack of all trades and was prominently noted as a master carpenter. He spent time perfecting his craft by learning new tricks of the trade that expanded his career. He traveled across states to build homes. He even spent a few years in California but returned home a few years later to be with family.
When you came in contact with Richie you'd be engulfed in laughter and would make sure you were having a good time. He had a spirited charisma that would light up any room he was in. If you ever needed advice he would be there to console and guide you. He knew when to give that tough love or be a shoulder to lean on.
In his spare time you could catch him with a beer in his hand socializing with family and friends or cheering on the New England Patriots during football season. He was no stranger in the kitchen and could whip up a tasty meal without a recipe. He never judged you and made sure to make room for laughter using his witty punchlines or go to catch phrases such as "life is real" or "I'm the man".
He was always "ten toes down" and thought quickly on feet, with that being said you could never win an argument with Richie. He would loved to be remembered by the good times filled of laughter, story telling, and devoted conversations.
He is predeceased by his loving parents; Andrew C. Robinson, Mary Lee Denson Robinson, brother Andrew Robinson, and his beloved, and only son Richard Lee Higgs. He is survived by his siblings; Willie Robinson (Mona Johnson), Annie Howard (Jessie Howard), Mary Ann Robinson, Gene Robinson, Lisa Robinson Pearl Robinson, Eric Robinson, sister in law Darlene Robinson, and loving partner Iris Smith. His memories will be cherished by his children; Sharman Cunningham, Gwendolyn Higgs, Shameeka Higgs, and their mother Diane Higgs. He will be forever remembered by his seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and growing list of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Richie is said to have silver in his hair, ears that truly listen, arms that always hold, a love that's never ending, and a heart made of gold.
