Richard R. Robitaille, age 78, lifelong resident of Newburyport, MA, died at his home on December 5, 2024, after a period of declining health.
Born in Newburyport, MA on June 22, 1946, he was the son of the late Joseph and Aria (Call) Robitaille and was a graduate of Newburyport High School, where he was a member of the Football Team.
Richard had worked as a heavy assembler at Chase Shawmut, Newburyport, manufacturers of industrial fuses.
He was an avid reader and loved watching the boats at Cashman Park, especially in the rain.
He leaves behind his son, Michael R. Robitaille and wife Claudette of Rochester, NH; his daughter-in-law, Jamie Robitaille of Newburyport; his grandchildren, Michael, Richard and Jeffrey Robitaille, all of Newburyport, and Alison Souza and wife Deb of Exeter, NH; his brother, Joseph Robitaille and wife Lynn of Sheboygan, WI; his sister, Kathy A. Henry and husband Herve of Chicago, IL, along with nieces, nephews, and extended family. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his son, Paul E. Robitaille of Newburyport, who passed on May 10, 2024.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at the Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Family Funeral Home, 35 Green Street, Newburyport, followed by a Memorial Service at the funeral home honoring Richard as well as his predeceased son, Paul, followed by a Graveside Service at Belleville Cemetery, Newburyport, where Richard will be laid to eternal rest on his Mother’s grave.
