Rich was born November 5, 1967, in Kansas City, MO, to Fred Emmit and Barbara Ellen (West) Scott. Rich's journey through life can be characterized by his jovial personality and his desire to help others in need. Rich grew up in Grandview, MO and attended Blue Ridge Christian School. Rich had a passion for soccer and was a valued player on his high school soccer team. Due to his incredible talent on the field, Rich was regularly invited to practice with the Kansas City Comets professional soccer team where he grew a great friendship with the players. Rich moved to Freeman, MO in 1984 and made his home there until his passing.
Rich worked for Johnson County Top Soil in Stilwell, KS, for ten years. Rich had a knack for all things mechanical and later pursued a career as an automotive mechanic. He eventually found his niche at Hafkemeyer Motors in Kansas City where Rich continued the Scott family trade and became known for his ability to fix anything with an engine, whether mechanical or electrical. Rich was blessed with and took immense pride in his children and grandchildren. Rich will be remembered by his family and friends for his infectious laughter and ornery sense of humor that always left those around him with a smile on their face.
Rich is survived by his parents, Fred and Barbara Scott of Freeman, MO; two daughters: Anissa Scott of Harrisonville, MO; and Morgan Scott of Warrensburg, MO; two sons: Sebastian King of Grandview, MO; and Conrad King (Darian) of Harrisonville, MO; and two granddaughters, Ava King and Mahala Duchesne.

I just want to say I'm thinking of Richie today! I saw someone who reminded me of him. I know his birthday is coming up November 5th, and I thank God that I knew Richie! I remember he couldn't wait till Larry and I got back from our honeymoon so he could come over and visit us! He came over and helped me dust our new used furniture for our new home! Sweet little towhead!

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always. Uncle Artie remembers all the good times we had at the White River and all the time Buster, and you stopped by the house. You will be missed. Uncle Artie
