Chesnee, SC.

 

Richard “Ricky” Scruggs, 72, husband of 50 years to Kathi McDaniel Scruggs, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, November 24, 2023 at Regional Hospice Home.

 

Born March 25, 1951 in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late George O. Scruggs Jr. and Laura Scruggs Powell. He was retired after 30 years with Duke Energy, a member of the Chesnee Masonic Lodge #294 and a member of New Pleasant Baptist Church.

 

Surviving in addition to his wife is his daughter, Jenni Henson (Jason) of Chesnee; sons, Jeff Scruggs of Chesnee, Justin Scruggs (Laura) of Mayo, Jason Cantrell (Lindsey) of Boiling Springs; grandchildren, Breauna Scruggs, Keirsten Scruggs, Cassiti Scruggs, Taylor Scruggs, Brandon Wiggins, Brayden and Jacob Henson, Maxton Cantrell, Thomas Cantrell, Charlotte Cantrell and 3 great-grandchildren.

 

The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at New Pleasant Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Bryan Yelton officiating.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.

 

Family members are at their respective homes.
