Dick Sebben, 88, of Littleton, Colorado passed away unexpectedly September 11th 2024 in Centennial, Colorado. Dick was born October 26th 1935 in Jerome, lowa to Geno and Evelyn Sebben. He was raised in Seymore, lowa and attended school there. In high school, he was active in many activities. He sang in the glee club and mixed chorus. He was also active in sports. He played football, baseball and ran track. As a senior, he was the starting center on the undefeated conference champion football team. He was named first team all-conference that year.
After graduation from high school, he attended North East Missouri State on a football scholarship (now known as Truman State University). He later joined the United States Airforce and was stationed at Lowry Airforce Base in Denver, Colorado. Here he attained a rank of staff sergeant as a nuclear weapons instructor. While stationed at Lowry, he met and married the love of his life, Lillian Martinez. They were married at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Denver. They later moved from Denver to Littleton and there they raised 5 children. Dick worked in the electronics and aerospace industries, where he would eventually retire. His hobbies included hunting, camping and traveling, especially in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. He was also an enthusiastic supporter of the Denver Broncos and Notre Dame Fighting lrish football teams.
Dick leaves behind his beloved wife of 67 years Lillian and his 5 children Richard, Angela, Pamela, David and Robert, as well as his son-in-laws Mark Landers and Brian Fenzi. He also leaves a brother, Jerry Sebben of Waukee, lowa. His family also includes 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Geno and Evelyn Sebben, and his sisters Pat Sourbie and Karen Jones, all of lowa. Dick was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. A recitation of the Catholic rosary will be held Tuesday October 1st, 2024 at 6:00 PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Littleton, Colorado. Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 2nd at 1:00 PM also at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery. After the funeral, family and friends are encouraged to attend a celebration of life at Castle Pines Country Club with a reception to follow.
