Richard Wayne Shepperd

Richard Wayne Shepperd, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on February 1, 2026, at the age of 56. Born on December 1, 1969, in Roanoke, Virginia, he was the son of the late Johnny Wayne Shepperd and the late Alona Blankenship Shepperd. In addition to his parents, Ricky is preceded in death by his brother, Gary Shepperd.

A proud graduate of Haralson County High School, class of 1989, Ricky embarked on a successful career as a Sales Representative for Graybar.  He found great joy in fishing and cherished weekends spent grilling out by the pool with his family.  Ricky also enjoyed hanging out with his longtime, loyal friends. A devoted sports fan, he particularly enjoyed watching football, passionately supporting the Georgia Bulldogs. Playing golf and traveling, especially going on cruises, were some of his other  favorite pastimes.  Ricky will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Ricky is survived by his loving wife of almost 30 years, Noel Barker Shepperd, his daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Jarrett Chandler, and his cherished grandson, Carson Chandler, all of Buchanan.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 2:00 - 3:00 PM at Mt. Zion East Baptist Church 1335 Mt. Zion East Road, Buchanan, GA.  A graveside service at Mt. Zion East Cemetery will immediately follow the visitation with Reverend Alton Stamey officiating.
