Richard Simmen Obituary
He was born on August 16, 1940 in Pittsburgh, PA to parents Arthur Simmen and Eleanor Murphy.
An Ashtabula resident most of his life, Richard graduated from Harbor High School Class of 1958. He went on to honorably serve his country in the United States Air Force. Richard was also a mechanic with CEI for a number of years until his retirement.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia (Newkirk) Simmen; sons, Richard Arthur, and Roderick, parents; and his brother Arthur.
He is survived by his children, Stacey (Jeff) Stone, Derek (Michele) Simmen; grandchildren, Tiffany Varga, Shannon Stone, Haydn Simmen, Kennedy Dean, and Jaxyn Simmen; he also leaves behind a sister, Flora Simmen.
Family and friends can gather from 2PM – 4PM on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Derek's Home, 790 State Rt. 307 E., Jefferson, OH.
Richard's final resting place will be at Chestnut Grove Cemetery, 79 Grove Dr, Ashtabula, OH 44004.
Funeral arrangements were trusted to Ducro Funeral Services and Crematory, 4524 Elm Ave. Ashtabula. Online obituary condolences can be made at www.ducro.com.

I first met Richard in 1981 when I married his brother, Art. Richard had a good sense of humor and he could do some crazy things. He loved his children and he loved life. I will miss him very much.
