Palmetto Funeral Home & Cremation Service - Fort MillRichard Anthony “Rick” Sinnes, 81, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and a man whose steady presence and generous spirit touched everyone who knew him.
Rick was married to the love of his life, Valerie Pope Sinnes, for 58 years. Together they built a life centered on family, faith, and quiet dedication to one another.
He is survived by his wife Valerie; his daughter Jennifer Buchanan and her husband Jeff of Hershey, Pennsylvania, and their children Jessica, Kaley, Cole, and Ellie; his son David Sinnes and his wife Keri of Haddonfield, New Jersey, and their children Michael, Max, and Avery; and his son Dan Sinnes and his wife Kristen of McKinney, Texas, and their children Madden and Tielsen.
Rick worked as a Certified Public Accountant in private practice, serving clients for many years in Miami, Florida and later in Charlotte, North Carolina. Known for his integrity, attention to detail, and strong work ethic, he took great pride in helping others navigate their financial lives.
Outside of work, Rick found his greatest joy on the golf course and on the sidelines of ball fields. He loved coaching his children in baseball and softball, rarely missing a game, and was happiest simply spending time with his family.
Above all, Rick will be remembered for his kindness, quiet humor, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. His legacy lives on through his children and grandchildren, who were the true pride of his life.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites memorial donations to Town Square Fort Mill, a community that provided comfort, engagement, and companionship for Rick. Contributions will directly support enriching activities, therapeutic programs, and special entertainment for seniors living with cognitive impairment.
A mass will be held at 292 Munn Rd E Fort Mill, Saint Philip Neri Church on March 14 at 10:00 a.m.
