Richard Sockriter Obituary

Published by Radzieta Funeral Home on Dec. 5, 2015.
Sockriter, Richard Christopher, 71, of Cape May, went home to be with the Lord on December 4, 2015. Rich, son of the late William Sockriter and Ethel East, loving husband of Doris Sockriter, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Doris Sockriter, and two sons, Richard Jr. (Faith) and John (Lori) Sockriter. He is also survived by his sister, Betty Cordes (William), his grandchildren, Cory (Laura), David, Jordan, Noah, Tyler, and Audra, and many nieces and nephews. Rich worked as an equipment operator for Ewing Septic Systems for over 50 years. He was an active member of the Seashore Community Church of the Nazarene where he was known for his annual Sportsman's Dinner. His younger years were spent as a dedicated 4-H member, and he exemplified the motto "head, heart, hands, and health" throughout his life. He also loved hunting and fishing, and was a jack of all trades. Most of all he loved his family, with his grandchildren being his pride and joy. He will be greatly missed by his loving family, church family, and friends. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at 5:30 pm at Seashore Community Church of The Nazarene, 446 Seashore Road, Erma, NJ 08204. Visitation will begin at 4:30. Interment is private. Donations may be made to "Compassionate Ministries" at Seashore Community Church.
