Richard Wallace Stalcup

Richard Wallace Stalcup, age 86, of Borger, Texas, died Monday, March 9, 2026 in Borger. He was born March 28, 1939 in Cochran County, Texas to W.O. and Velma (Hall) Stalcup. He married Nora Davis in Morton on May 31, 1966.

Wallace was a 1957 graduate of Bledsoe High School. He was born again at the Bledsoe Baptist Church at the age of 14. Wallace served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963. He also served in law enforcement as a police officer in Lubbock, Texas, and was the Cochran County Sheriff for many years. Wallace farmed for 20 years as well. He was a member of the Gideons, the NRA, the American Legion and the Sheriff's Association of Texas. Wallace was a Deacon in his church and was a Sunday School teacher. He was a member of Riverview Baptist Church in Borger. He is preceded in death by his wife, Nora; his son, Sean Stalcup; two sisters, Louise McCaslan and Dorthea Ruth Tanner; and a brother, L.C. Stalcup.

Wallace is survived by his son, Rick Stalcup and his wife, Scarlett of Fritch, Texas; and numerous grandchildren.
