Richard Stanovich Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Gray Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Oct. 1, 2025.
Richard Keith "Rick" Stanovich, age 62, of Monroe County, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 8, 2025. Born on January 16, 1963, in Pensacola, Florida, Richard lived a full and spirited life, guided by a deep love for family, friends, faith, and the natural world around him.
A man of many passions, Rick found joy in hunting, fishing, and sailing the open waters. Music was a constant in his life, whether strumming his beloved guitars or just listening, it stirred his soul. He never let obstacles define him; he played handicap basketball with pride and even starred in a commercial for the Armed Services, representing strength, resilience, and determination. His love for motorcycles and animals, especially dogs, revealed his bold spirit and tender heart.
Rick was known for his boundless generosity and his desire to help others at every turn. Whether lending a hand or simply being a listening ear, he never missed an opportunity to serve. He lived "one step at a time, one day at a time," always choosing compassion and sincerity over complaint or judgment. He taught those around him to be patient, to show respect, and to love deeply and freely. His greatest lessons were the ones he lived: how to treat others with dignity and how to walk humbly with the Lord.
To his family and friends, Rick was more than a loved one, he was a bright light. He loved being silly, often acting like a grown-up kid, especially in the company of his closest friends. His sense of humor was infectious, and his ability to make people smile was unmatched.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved son, Chuck Stanovich (Emily); his brothers, Charles Mitchell Stanovich, Martin Stanovich, and Joseph Stanovich; and his close friends, Scott Weathers (Cloca), David Moore (Judy), and Allen Rearden (Cindy). He was preceded in death by his dear parents, Charles and Lynda Stanovich, and his daughter, Jenn Stanovich.
Richard Keith Stanovich lived with intention, faith, and a heart wide open. His life touched many and will continue to echo through the lives he impacted.
