Richard Starr

We are heartbroken to announce the death of our father, Richard (Rick) Lee Starr. He passed away peacefully at the age of 76. Our dad loved watching old western movies and being surrounded by family and friends. He was fun to laugh with. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 28 years. Before that, he served as a sergeant in the Marines. While in the military, he deployed to Vietnam where he was wounded and earned a Purple Heart. He finished his career in Hawaii.
He was preceded by: his mother, Mildred Starr; father, Edmund Starr; brother, Cleveland Starr; sister, Janice Spangler; and brother, Thomas Starr.
He leaves behind: daughter, Shannon Lueckenhoff and her children, Natalie and Taylor; daughter, Erin Starr and her children, Koy, Layla, Gabriel, and Mia; son, Shane Starr, his wife, Kristina Starr, and their children, Shane, Bruce, and Rylynn; Mother of children, Janie Starr; brother, Edmund Starr; and several other loved ones.

Services will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM.
