Richard A. Stevens, 90, of Newington passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026. Born in Bridgton, Maine in 1935 to the late Harris and Alice (Sargent) Stevens. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth (Peters) Stevens. Dick served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was a Mason with Sequin Lodge 140 in Newington; he served as Master during 1976-1977. Dick was a member of the Newington Volunteer Fire Department for 35 years and a member of the Newington Veteran Firefighters Association.

Besides his civic achievements, Dick loved to play cards every Friday night for decades. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, golfing, wrestling, old black and white westerns and the New England Patriots. He loved to go camping and enjoyed his cross-country trip in 2019. He always looked forward to his lunch buddy, AJ, to bring him his monthly Chilis burger.

He leaves behind his children, Linda Stevens-Nadeau (Gary), Richard A. Stevens Jr. (Evette), and Amy Stevens. His grandchildren Jessica Nadeau, Jonathan Nadeau, Brennan Stevens, and Heather Dukette, his seven great grandchildren, and his sister-in-law Barbara Metzen. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Elizabeth.

Donations may be made to Newington Fire Department, Company #4, 84 Fifth Street, Newington, CT 06111.
