Richard Anthony Stratman, 82, of Louisville passed away peacefully on Friday, February 6, 2026.

He was born in Louisville on February 18, 1943 to the late Dorothy Jean Caple Stratman and Gerald Joseph Stratman.

He was a former member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, a member of American Turners where he served as Past President, and a member of Elks Lodge 8. He was an avid U of L fan and a U of K Rugby fan. He worked as a beer salesman for Dixie Beer and Mo Morman, retiring after 35 years.

Besides his parents he was preceded by his loving wife of 56 years, Jacqueline Mann Senn Stratman; and sister, Deborah McGrew.

He is survived by his daughters, Stacy Breland (Lamont), Shannon O'Connor (Michael), and Julie Donlon (Glen); son Christopher Stratman; grandchildren, Katie (Josh), Rachel, Kristina, Nicole, Kevin (Victoria), Tucker, Taylor, Bryce (Jordyn), Dalton, Colby, and Blaine; great grandchildren, Blair and Liam; and expecting a great grandson, Briggs in April.

He is also survived by his brothers, Daniel (Becky), Keenan (Lynda Sue), and Paul (Debbie) Stratman; sisters, Mary Maddox, Patsy Riley (Jack), and Linda Kuhlenback (Steve); brother-in-law, Mike McGrew; numerous nieces and nephews, other loving family members and friends.

His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home 3800 Bardstown Road. Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Thursday and from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. on Friday.

Memorial gifts may be made to Hosparus of Louisville or WHAS Crusade Children.
