Richard Eugene Sumney

Richard Eugene "Dickie" Sumney, 78, of Canonsburg, peacefully passed away at home on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 with his family by his side. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Diane Sumney for 56 wonderful years, his two sons, Richard (Rita) and Robert (Melissa); his grandchildren Isabella, Brandon, Alexa, Seth, and Shawn; his great-grandchildren, Theia and Luna; and his sister, Donna Koehler. He is preceded in death by his mother, Lois Koehler. Richard was a graduate of Canon Mac High School in 1963. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He also served his community as an Eagle Scout and volunteered greatly at his church as an Elder and Deacon. Richard was also a volunteer at the VFW Ambulance Service in Canonsburg for many years. He always enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. Most of all, Dickie enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family. He will be dearly missed by all.
