Richard Tardif, 80, of Lyman passed away on January 28, 2025 after a brief illness. Richard was born in Biddeford to Edgar and Lucie Tardif. He was educated in the Biddeford school system, graduating from St. Louis High School.
Richard made a career as a truck driver earning several safe driver awards. He was also a member of the RamRod club, a small group of guys who had similar interests in racing. He enjoyed going to local racetracks. He was a faithful NASCAR fan. One of his best interests was supporting his children and grandchildren in their school sporting events. It didn't matter if it was Biddeford or Thornton Academy football games or McCauley High School basketball games, he would be there supporting the kids. After retirement, Richard would often be in the woods cleaning up and cutting trees on his property.
He is survived by his wife, Joan (Roy) Tardif; and his children Lisa Tardif Ricker, Chris Tardif and wife Michelle, Kathryn Laskey and husband Dan, Hank Willey and wife Melanie, and Carl Willey. He had eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A private service will be held by the family in the spring.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to: Biddeford High School Athletic Association or Thornton Academy Athletic Association.
