Richard (Rick) Mark Thompson, beloved father, grandfather, and cherished friend, passed away on January 12, 2025 in East St. Paul MN.
Richard was born in New Ulm, MN and was raised in North St. Paul, MN where he lived a life full of adventure, love and dedication.
Rick dedicated 41 year of his professional life to 3M, where his hard work and commitment left an indelible mark. Beyond his career, Rick had a piston of of passion for life's finer pursuits. He was an enthusiast of motorcycles and classic (muscle) cars, and he found immense joy in attending car shows, marveling at the craftsmanship and stories each vehicle held. An avid outdoorsman in his younger years, Rick cherished time spent fishing and hunting, connecting with nature's tranquility. His appreciation for history and artistry shone through his collection of knifes, compasses, and pocket watches, each piece holding a special place in his heart.
Above all, Rick's greatest pride and joy were his family and friends. He deeply loved his children, grandsons and friends, always cherishing the moments spent together, creating memories filled with laughter and love. Rick's legacy lives on through his daughter Vanessa (Jeff) Thompson, son; Michael (Jess) Thompson, and grandsons Bryce (Adeliah) Thompson and Christopher Thompson.
Rick's life was a celebration of curiosity, closeness and devotion to those he loved. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, determination and an appreciation of the beautiful things in life.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests sharing your favorite memories of Rick
Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
