Richard Kendall Thompson, passed away on November 7, 2025, in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. Born on July 4, 1957, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Richard lived a life marked by his dedication to others and a passion for family, friends, and the simple pleasures that brought him joy.
Richard’s professional journey saw him working as a mechanic at Rick's Place, where he was known not only for his technical skills but also for his warm personality and readiness to lend a helping hand to those in need. Throughout his life, Richard found immense joy in spending time with his family and friends. He was particularly fond of his two dogs, Snowball and Sister, with whom he shared countless memorable moments. Raised on the classic tales of old westerns, Richard had a particular fondness for John Wayne films, and he also enjoyed watching old cartoons.
Richard's pride and accomplishments were deeply tied to his family. He married his beloved wife, Kelli Thompson, on June 28, 2010, in Spavinaw, a union that brought him great happiness. He is survived by Kelli of the home, his son Jason Thompson of Spavinaw, Oklahoma, and his daughter Tonya Thompson and her spouse Dave of Agra, Oklahoma. Additionally, Richard is remembered by his brother, Russel Thompson of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and his nephew, Devin Thompson of Sapulpa, Oklahoma. The joy of family continues, as Richard is also survived by two great nieces/nephews on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Hazel (Williams) Thompson, who provided him with an upbringing filled with love and support. Richard's legacy is one of kindness, warmth, and a spirit that will remain with his family and friends forever. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
