Richard H. Toennies was born on January 10, 1942, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Loretta (nee-Schultz) and William Toennies. He went to sleep in death on April 9, 2025, at Westpark Healthcare.
He is survived by a brother, George Toennies, and a sister, Phyllis Toennies.
Richard’s favorite hobby at Westpark Healthcare was coloring. He enjoyed interacting with other residents and staff at the facility and in his earlier years, at the foundry where he worked. His laugh was contagious, and he loved to make people smile and laugh with him. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Richard is now peacefully sleeping in death. (1 Corinthians 15:20; John 11: 11, 13, 14) There he is awaiting a resurrection on a paradise on earth as promised in the Bible by Jehovah Gods son Jesus Christ, (John 5:28, 29; Revelation 21:3, 4), where he will be joined by others with the prospect of living forever in that paradise as Jehovah had originally purposed for mankind. (Genesis chapters 1, 2; Psalm 37: 11, 29). God’s kingdom that Jesus Christ taught his followers to pray for at Matthew chapter 6. Verses nine through 13 will bring this about in the near future.
There will be a brief scriptural graveside service at Brooklyn Heights Cemetery, 4700 Broadview Road, Cleveland, Ohio 44109 on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 1:00pm. Please meet at the State Road entrance at 12:45pm.
