Richard Wayne "Dickie" Tomplait

Richard "Dickie" Tomplait, 81, of Burkeville, Texas went to be with the Lord on October 1, 2025 with his family at his side in his home.

Visitation will be held Saturday October 4, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, October 5, 2025 at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial proceeding at Trout Creek Cemetery.

Dickie was born on September 14, 1944 to Tommy Tomplait and Marguerite (Clarke) in Vidor, Texas. Dickie was a 1963 graduate of Kirbyville High School and afterwards enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he served a 4 year term, receiving the National Defense Service and Good Conduct Medals. Once completing his service to his country, he became a survey technician for 2 years before joining the Pipefitters local 195 in 1969. He worked in the construction industry for 33 years before retiring to his lake home on Toledo Bend. He loved fishing, hunting, spending time with family and friends and his Martin D-21 guitar. He enjoyed entertaining people with traditional country music where he was given the opportunity to play for a wide variety of venues and audiences.

He is survived by his children, Amy Lewis and husband Wesley, Richie Tomplait and wife Crystal; grandchildren, Maci Lewis, Karter Tomplait and Ross Tomplait.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Tommy and Marguerite Tomplait; brothers, Kenneth and Don Tomplait; sister, Sharon Thornton.
