Richard Roland Trudeau, of Framingham, Massachusetts, passed away
suddenly after a long and courageous battle with mental illness. He was a
beloved son, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, remembered for his
kindness, warmth, and sharp sense of humor that could light up any room.
Richard graduated from Keefe Technical School in Framingham and went on
to build a career as a general contractor and glass glazer. He took great pride
in his work, spending many years working on high-rise buildings across
Boston-embodying the work ethic instilled in him by his father. One of his
proudest accomplishments was working on the John Hancock Tower in
Boston, where he helped replace many of the building's windows after its
infamous structural challenges. His craftsmanship and dedication left a
lasting mark on the city skyline.
He is survived by his son, Mark Trudeau of Duxbury, who will forever
cherish their memories together; his sisters, Michelle Trudeau of
Marlborough, MA, and Marie Trudeau VanHeest and her husband Doug
VanHeest of South Carolina. He also leaves behind his beloved niece and
nephews-Nicole VanHeest, Mathew Foster, and Danny Foster-as well as
many other cousins, extended family members, and friends who loved him
deeply.
Richard will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. Though our hearts
are broken, we take comfort in knowing he is now at peace.
May he rest well, carried by the angels to eternal peace.
A graveside committal service will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 11:00AM at the Mayflower Cemetery in Duxbury, followed by a Celebration of Richard's life at the Gillis Family Tavern in Plymouth from 12:00PM - 4:00PM.
