Richard Trueb

Richard Trueb, known to many as Dick, passed away at home on February 28, 2024, in Birmingham, Alabama, at the age of 88. He was born in 1936, in Shelbyville, Indiana.
From an early age, work ethic was an important theme as the whole family was involved in the family electrical business Trueb Electric. Dick and his brothers followed in the footsteps of their father by attending Rose Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana; he graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was a member of ATO Fraternity. He then dedicated 25 years of his career to working with the Mead Corporation, followed by BE&K, Polar BEK, and completed his Career as CEO of Polar-BEK Latvia.
In the words of C.S. Lewis, "humility is not thinking less of yourself but thinking of yourself less often". He lived this as he always placed God first, followed by his family, serving his community and most importantly his church throughout his life. He was a devoted member of the Mountain Brook Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder, treasurer, and choir member for many years. He also served alongside many friends and mentors in the Presbytery USA.
Dick will be deeply missed and remembered by his beloved wife of 65 years, Molly Trueb; his children, Steve Trueb, Meg Trueb (Bobby), John "JT" Trueb (Stephanie), his grandchildren, Evan, Emilia, Eva, Caroline, Alexander, and Ashley; as well as his siblings, Dave Trueb (Ann), Linda Krebs, and Tom Trueb (Pamela).
He was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy and John "Jack" Trueb, his sister-in-law Jan Trueb, his brother-in-law Tim Krebs, and his sister-in-law Susan Cook.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at Mountain Brook Presbyterian Church on April 6 @ 11:00 am.
