Richard J. Tullie, of Havertown, PA, a beloved figure in his community and a dedicated family man, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025, at the age of 80.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Donald and Pauline (née Plungy) Tullie.
Richard enjoyed a remarkable 50-year career with Acme Markets, where he served as the manager of the meat department. His work ethic and leadership skills left a lasting impact on his colleagues and the community he served.
In addition to his professional achievements, Richard honorably served his country in the U.S. Army, demonstrating both courage and commitment to the values he held dear. His service reflects the integrity and discipline that was evident in all aspects of his life.
Outside of work, Richard found joy in simple pleasures cherishing time spent in North Cape May at their family home, particularly the tranquility of the beach. He also enjoyed hunting excursions with his brother-in-law, a bond that only grew stronger through shared experiences. Richard was an avid shopper on E-Bay and enjoyed the strategic challenge of playing cribbage. During the holiday season, Richard delighted in making Italian pizzelle cookies, gifting them to both friends and family alike at Christmastime.
The true center of Richard's world was his family, and his greatest treasures were his four precious granddaughters. The bond he shared with them brought him boundless joy and fulfillment. He will be remembered for the love and wisdom he imparted during their cherished moments together.
Richard was the beloved husband of Diane Tullie (née Gajewski), with whom he shared 60 years of marriage; the loving father of Lisa Marie Regan (Timothy J.) and Michelle Tullie (Jamaal Boozer). He was the proud and caring grandfather of Morgan Regan, Madisyn, Ariana and Mila Boozer. He is also survived by his siblings, Albert Tullie, Loretta Fragnito, and Marcy Gajewski, and is predeceased by brother, Ronald Tullie and sister, Ethel Mills.
Family and friends are invited to honor Richard’s life at a Visitation Thursday evening, December 18, 2025, 6:00 to 7:00 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, followed by a Funeral Service commencing at 7:00 PM. Interment will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 11:30 AM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, 60 Indiantown Gap Road, Anneville, PA 17003.
