Richard A. "Chico" Ursitti, age 76 of Smyrna, DE passed away on September 2, 2025, surrounded by his devoted family.
He was born in Sewickley, PA on May 12, 1949, to the late James and Josephine Ursitti.
Chico proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1971 during which he spent 1 year in Viet Nam.
He worked at LTV Steel, and formerly J&L Steel for 17years until they shut down. He then moved to Delaware where he worked for M. Davis and Sons for 2 years, then moved on to General Chemical where he worked for 18 years until they shut down and moved directly on to Honeywell until he retired in 2012.
Chico was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with friends and family at his camp in the Allegheny Mountains in Tionesta, PA. He was kind and loving and would help anyone with whatever they needed help with. He was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Ursitti and sister, Judy French.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy, his devoted son and daughter in law, Steven and Penny, granddaughter, Piper whom he ADORED, his adopted son, Steve Kee and his brother Jim (Caroline).
A viewing will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, DE from 6-8 pm. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, September 6th at 10am at St. Polycarp Church, 55 Ransom Lane, Smyrna, DE. Burial will follow at Old Bohemia Cemetery, Warwick, MD.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Our Daily Bread Dining Room, 214 N. Broad St., P.O. Box 945, Middletown, DE 19709.
