Wilbert "Boots" Wright Sr

Wilbert "Boots" Wright, Sr, 87, of Middletown, DE, passed away in his own home on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.
Born on September 13, 1938, in St Georges, DE, he is the son of the late Herbert and Ethel (Biddle) Wright.
Mr. Wright attended school in Cecil County, MD before he began working for various farming operations over the years.
On September 15, 1961, he married the love of his life, the late Grace Jane Dixon, in Elkton, MD. Together, they were blessed with and raised a loving son, Wilbert "Flip" Wright, Jr. He was a caring and hard-working husband as well as a loving father and grandfather.
Boots, as he was fondly known, enjoyed farm work. After marrying, he worked for G. Lester Cleaver's farm in Middletown, DE; Winfield Farms in Chesapeake City, MD; and Great House Farm in Chesapeake City, MD, until his retirement.
In his earlier years, Boots enjoyed riding motorcycles, three-wheelers, snowmobiling, and fishing. After retiring from farm work, he could be found mowing grass with his son, daughter-in-law and grandsons, as well as mowing for South Wind Farms in Middletown, DE and Country Roads Farm in Warwick, MD.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a host of brothers and sisters.
Boots leaves many wonderful and fond memories for his son, Flip and his wife, Anna, of Townsend, along with three cherished grandsons, Wilbert (Rudy), Randy Michael and Riley Troy.
Services will be held on Thursday, November 13th at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, DE 19709. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Townsend Cemetery.
