Richard Earl Versluis
On May 21st 2024 we said goodbye to our beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend as he peacefully passed away in his sleep at home surrounded by his loved ones.
Born September 2nd 1954 to Audrey Perry and Glen Versluis, he was one of nine children.
He married the love of his life Chris Timmler on May 20th 1983 and together they had four children. He had a love / hate relationship for tile that lead him to become a master of his trade after 50 years.
Richard was the life of the party and knew how to make those around him laugh, he always had a joke to share or was playing pranks on those around him. He could have a conversation with anyone and always had wisdom to share if you were willing to listen. The love he had for music went deep and influenced everyone around him. He always had a new band to share that he found while browsing music. He loved anything sci-fi, (especially Star Trek) which he got from his mom. He loved growing a beard despite his wife's wishing of shaving it. He loved his family very much and was always willing to help and lend a hand. If you called, he would show up for you. He had a very kind soul. He was very loved and he will be missed deeply.
Richard was preceded in death by his mom, his dad, his brother and his two sisters. Also, his beloved dog Hercules.
He is survived by the love of his life, Chris Versluis his sons, Jason (Amanda) Versluis, Justin Versluis, Josh Versluis and his daughter Jaleesa (Evan) Versluis, 5 grandchildren, Lilly, Luca, Loralai, Adele, Alanna.
A celebration of life will take place on June 2nd 2024 at his home, this will be an open house from 2pm- 5pm. Please come pay your respect for this beloved man and share your stories.
