Richard Donald Vicars, 69, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at his home.

He was born August 13, 1954, in Fort Belvoir, Virgina to Richard John and Marlene Mogenson Vicars.

Richard served his country in the U.S. Army as a M-16 Marksman Shooter.

On June 16, 2007, Richard married Dreama Joyce Stiles at Hardware Ranch, Utah.

He was employed as an aircraft supervisor at Hill Air Force Base, retiring after 40 years of service. He had a very strong work ethic and was very respected by his co-workers for his straight forwardness and mentoring. He made many lasting friendships.

He was one of the last of the old-time cowboys and an avid lover of his horse, Duke, better known as “that old paint horse”.  He was a simple but very kind man, if you were his friend, he had your back for life.  He enjoyed hunting and loved wildlife. He spent hours riding and spending time in nature and the outdoors.

Richard is survived by his wife, Dreama; sons, Patrick and RJ; step-children, CJ(Sally) and Eddie; three grandchildren, Stryker, Abigail and Taylor; siblings:  Marion, Cole (Deb), and Dusti; and several loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lindquist Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South, Roy, Utah. A visitation will be held prior from 10:00 – 10:40 a.m. at the mortuary.
