Richard G. Vineyard, 87, of Blackstone MA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, in the comfort of his home.
Richard was born on February 15, 1938. He was the son of the late Edd and Jewel (Daly) Vineyard. For 56 years, he was the beloved husband of Carol M. Vineyard. He was the loving and devoted father of Michelle McCrae of Blackstone, MA, Kelly DiMillo (David) of Plymouth, MA and Jill Carnick (John) of Union Grove, WI. He leaves his deeply cherished grandchildren Taylor, Alec, Claire, Catherine and Allison. He was the brother of the late Jean Vineyard, Etoile Smitke, Clyde Vineyard, Houston Vineyard, Frank Vineyard and Carmen MacGregor. Richard was born and raised in West Frankfort, IL. He and Carol lived in many locations including Bluffton, SC, Oconomowoc, WI and LaGrange IL.
Richard spent most of his professional career in leadership roles serving the trucking industry. He was passionate about his work and approached every task with dedication and a deep sense of purpose. He had an incredibly strong and unwavering faith in God, grounding each day in prayer and the reading of scripture. He embraced every opportunity to reflect God's love through is words and actions. Above all, Richard was a deeply caring husband and father. His family was always his top priority, providing them with endless support, guidance and unconditional love.
Funeral services will be held on September 27, 2025, at the Union Funeral Home, 213 East Oak Street, West Frankfort, IL at 2:00pm. Visitation will be held from 12:00pm to 2:00pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Parkinson's Foundation www.parkinson.org in memory of Richard G. Vineyard would be appreciated.
