Richard Wasosky

Richard Stanley Wasosky (" Rich"), age 78 of Sagamore Hills, OH passed away peacefully Monday, October 20, 2025. He graduated from West Mifflin North High School in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania in 1965 and received his BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in 1969. Richard was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church.

He dedicated his life to transportation engineering and serving his community. Rich worked for Euthenics Engineering consultants since 1972, only recently retiring in 2023. He was proud of his work, beginning on the original interstate highway system, continuing with improvements impacting communities throughout Northeast Ohio, and drafting engineering standards for Cuyahoga county as one of his last acts. Rich served as City Engineer for Northfield Village from 1986 through 2021 and loved working with community members to solve their problems.

He loved traveling to Mexico and Latin America to visit Mayan ruins and spend time on the beach. Rich and his wife, Alice, enjoyed swing dancing and often attended live concerts. He cherished his son's family and spent time with his three grandsons and watched many of their sporting events. Above all, Rich worked his whole life to make sure they were taken care of. He is preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Margaret Wasosky, along with his brother Bobby. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Alice; brothers Ray and Gene; his son Steven; daughter-in-law Nicole; and three grandsons Benjamin, Nathan, and Alexander. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In memory of Richard Wasosky, the family invites contributions to the Education Fund of the ASCE Foundation.
