Richard Waters Obituary
Richard Waters, age 59, passed away on Friday, December 8th, 2023, at Evans Memorial Hospital. He was born on June 30th, 1964, in Miami, FL and had lived in Glennville most of his life. He was a 1983 graduate of the Glennville High School and had attended Savannah Technical College.
Richard was a hardworking man who dedicated his entire career to farming with his best friend and brother in law, Daniel Dreggors. His passion for agriculture was evident in the way he cultivated his land and took care of his crops. Richard's work as a farmer not only provided for his family but also contributed to the local community in Glennville. One of Richard's greatest joys in life was spending time with his sons and grandson. He had a deep love for nature and enjoyed fishing and hunting during his free time.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert S. Waters and Patricia Waters Mixon, as well as his siblings Becky Waters Edwards, Robert L. Waters, and Rodney S. Waters.
Richard is survived by many loved ones who will continue to carry on his memory: his wife Debra Ann Waters; his sons Matthew (Victoria) Waters of Savannah and Madison (Philip) Waters of Glennville; grandson Harrison Waters; the mother of his children, Robin Waters of Glennville; siblings Vic (Sherry) Waters of Crescent, Jenny Waters (James) Weitman of Glennville, Belinda Waters Durden of KY, Reggie Waters of Glennville, Priscilla Waters Rogers of SC, Ronnie (Tina) Waters of Collins, Robin Waters (John) Smith, and George (Jennifer) Mixon all of Statesboro; step-children Tia (Gary) Jimenez of Atlanta and Billy Todd (Katherine) Hancock of SC; step-grandchildren Riley, Isabella, Gabriel, and Eli; step-great-grandchild Wynter; father and mother in law, Mike and Marie Massey of Glennville; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00pm on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at the Chapel of the Glennville Funeral Home with the funeral services to follow at 1:00pm with Reverend William Prince officiating. Interment will follow in the Pigot Branch Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Vic Waters, Reggie Waters, Ronnie Waters, George Mixon, Daniel Dreggors, John Smith, James Weitman, and Mike Massey.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be given to Tattnall CARES, PO Box 2256, Reidsville, GA 30453
