TICONDEROGA - Richard B. Witherbee, 59, a devoted father, loving man, and cherished friend, passed away on December 25, 2025. He was born on February 6, 1966, in Ticonderoga, N.Y. He lived a quiet life, marked by hard work, kindness and quiet strength.
A dedicated father, Richard took great pride in his family. He was known by his witty spirit, wealth of wisdom and unwavering guidance and support. Richard honorably served in the National Guard. He carried the values of service, discipline and integrity throughout his life. He worked hard as a diesel mechanic. Outside of work he enjoyed spending time with his sons and grandchildren.
He is survived by his sons, Caleb, Aaron and Noah Witherbee, and Adam Mosier; his grandchildren, Ashton, Colson, Logan and Aurora Witherbee; mother and stepfather, Joanne Bevins and Al Russell; his brothers, Shawn and Darren Witherbee; and his long-term partner, Amy Hoffay. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard H. Witherbee.
A service to celebrate Richard's life will be held at Wilcox and Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga, on Tuesday, December 30, 12 to 2p.m., followed by a Service at 2 p.m. The Rev. Oliver Bevins will officiate.
Interment will be at Saratoga National Cemetery, date to be announced.
Richard will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his love, integrity, and the lasting impact he left on all who knew him.
