Richard Lee Wolfe, formerly of Daniels, WV passed Wednesday, October 22, 2025 under the care of Brightmoor Hospice. He moved to Warner Robins, GA in 2010 and resided at The Canopy of Warner Robins for the last two years. A private graveside service is planned for Friday, October 24, 2025 at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.
He was a 1948 graduate of Mark Twain High School in Stotesbury, WV. He served his country in the US Navy on the Destroyer USS Hambleton from 1948 to 1952 during the Korean War. After his time in the Navy, he was employed by Long Airdox in Oak Hill, WV and ElMac Corporation in Crab Orchard, WV.
He was preceded in death by his parents Glenna (Stephens) Wolfe and George (Bud) Wolfe and sisters Stephanie Bonney and Armita Whetsel.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Thelma Shelton Wolfe. He is also survived by three sons, Edwin (Suzanne) Wolfe of Warner Robins, Stephen (Sylvia) Wolfe of Smithfield, NC and Dorian (Susan) Wolfe of Tilton, NH. Three grandchildren, Jessica (Jeff) Gordon, Stephen (Amy) Wolfe Jr. and Christopher Wolfe survive him as well as seven great-grandchildren, Jackson, Sophia, Caroline and Benjamin Gordon, Amelia Wolfe (daughter of Stephen, Jr), and Harrison and Harper Wolfe (Christopher).
The family would like to give a special thanks to Tantresse of Brightmoor Hospice for the wonderful, compassionate care she provided during Richard's last year of life. Also, a heartfelt thanks is given to all the wonderful staff at Brightmoor Hospice in-patient facility in Macon, GA. Their kindness, compassion and attention during his final days was a great comfort to the family.
At the family's request in lieu of flowers memorial contributions to may be made to the charity of their choice.
Heritage Memorial Funeral Home, Warner Robins, GA, has charge of arrangements.
