Rick “Cheat” Cheatham, 69, of Prosperity, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at his home.
Born on May 11, 1956, in Greenville, he was the son of the late James Edward and Claude Richards Sitton Cheatham. He was the owner of RC’s Help. He attended Cross Point Church and was a member of the Newberry Shrine Club and the Pomaria Masonic Lodge # 151. He was an avid supporter of the Newberry College Football program.
Rick found great joy in the outdoors, hunting, and riding his motorcycle.
Rick is survived by a daughter, Whitney “Clooney” French (Wally) of Tigerville; a son, Joshua “Clyde” Cheatham (Krystal) of Newberry and grandchildren, Harper, Shelby, Easton, Barrett and Blakely.
The family would also like to recognize all of his special friends he leaves behind especially those at the Newberry Shrine Club, his Masonic Brothers, and members of the Newberry College Athletic Department.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the Newberry Shrine Club, 196 Shrine Club Road, Newberry. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 7:00 pm
