Rick Grant, age 69, of Columbus, OH, passed away on March 7, 2025. He was born on December 19, 1955 to William "Bill" and Betty Jean (VanFossan) Grant in Columbus, OH. He was preceded in death by his father, sister Kim Grant, and brother from another mother Rick "Roach" Chapman. Rick is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Margaret (Mason) Grant, sons Josh (Amanda) Grant and Tim (Nicole) Grant, grandchildren Zac, Katie, Joey, Sam, Dominic, Brooklyn, and Logan; Laila and 11 additional great grandchildren, mother Betty Grant, siblings Conda Grant, Kenny (Diane) Grant, and Tina Grant, brother from another mother Bernie (Deb) Trinkle, many nieces and nephews.
Rick served honorably in the U.S Army. He retired from the City of Columbus, division of street maintenance in 1997. Rick's favorite past times included riding his Harley with his sons, attending car shows, and street races, and overseeing his sons as they worked on the Malibu. He loved spending time with his family and friends and supervising Christmas Cookie Baking; but he enjoyed eating them even more. He loved being surrounded by his grandchildren and great grandchildren and was known to be one of Santa's helpers from time to time. Rick was very proud to be raising his loving great granddaughter Laila and helping her with her school work, especially math and spelling.
Friends may call at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH on Saturday, March 15, 2025 from 2:00pm until time of service at 4:00pm with Pastor Adrian Powell officiating.
