Richard "Rick" Leslie Page died April 1, 2025, at the age of 81 due to natural causes following an accident in his home. In accordance with his written wishes, he was not put on life support and passed peacefully in the company of his loving wife and family.
Rick was born November 19, 1943, to Helen and Leslie Page and Raised in Oak Grove Oregon. Rick was the eldest child and his parents' only son. He was admired greatly by his younger sisters, Terralee Ginther and Evette Page Bechtold.
Naturally gregarious and extroverted, Rick – "Rickie" to his close friends and family– had a rich social life as a child and throughout his teenage years. He was involved in Scouts and Junior Rifle Club. Rickie also spent many days in the woods hunting and fishing with his father.
After graduating from Milwaukie High School in 1961, Rick joined the US Navy. In 1965 Rick was honorably discharged and bought his dream car: a 1963 Corvette.
In 1968 Rick was attending Portland State University when he renewed his friendship with, and began dating, his 8th grade classmate Suzanne "Suzy" Henry. Rickie and Suzy were Married in 1969 and started a life together in The Irvington-Alameda Neighborhood in NE Portland where they would go on to raise their family.
After graduating from PSU in 1970 Rick started "Rick Page and Associates," an advertising and public relations firm in Vancouver, WA. Rick was an active member of The Vancouver Dawns Lions Club and ultimately served as its President. He was also an active Member of The Vancouver City Club.
Rick was naturally creative and inventive; he enjoyed drawing and photography as a teen and into his twenties.
As a father, Rick enjoyed hobbies such as cooking, woodworking, gardening, sailboat-racing, cruising Puget Sound with his family, and building model railroads.
In his later years he took up the gentle art of metal-detecting. Metal-detecting led him to many wonderful friendships, and he served two terms as president of the Oregon Treasure Trail Society.
Rick was a fabulous father and grandfather who was always involved with and supportive of his children. He was a doting husband who thought the world of his wife.
Rick will be remembered by all who knew him as a good-natured man who took pleasure in the company of others; he was always optimistic and absolutely never complained about anything.
Rick is survived by his wife of 55 years, Suzanne Page, as well as by his daughter Trista, his son Ian, sisters Terralee and Evette, and by four grandchildren: Eli, Zoe and Rubyjune and Sebastian.
A celebration of Rick's life will be held On Saturday June 7, 2025 at American Legion Post 1, 1830 SE 122nd Ave Portland Or, 97233
