Richard Alan "Rick" Serres, 69, died on September 22, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. Rick was born in Lacrosse, Wisconsin, on September 28, 1955, to the late Ron and Rose Serres. He was the founder and president of Bluegrass Biomedical in Danville.

Rick Serres was a cherished friend and a true pillar of the Danville community. He leaves behind a legacy of unwavering service, infectious laughter, and boundless love.

A true friend to all, Rick never met a stranger. His ability to connect with people from all walks of life was one of his greatest gifts, and every conversation was an opportunity for connection, usually sealed with a joke-some good, some famously bad, but all delivered with the same enthusiasm.

Rick was a tireless advocate for the city of Danville. He believed in the power of community and dedicated countless hours serving on the City Council, volunteering, or simply speaking up for progress, his impact can be seen in the parks, streets, and spirit of the town.

He was a firm believer in staying active and was an inspiration to many. He loved to travel, experience new things, and live music. His favorite destination was always a sandy beach, where he could listen to the waves with a drink in hand.

He showed us all how to live a life of purpose, generosity, and joy. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the town he championed and in the hearts of all who knew him.

Rick is survived by his wife, Audrey Louise Serres, children, Amber Serres, Adam Serres (Christopher McKnight), and Andrew (AllieShae) Serres, grandchildren, Sawyer Rose Serres and Avery Dean Serres, and brothers, Ray (Denise) Serres, Rob (Heidi) Serres, and Rod (Gretta) Serres.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 5 pm on October 2, 2025, at The Showroom. Visitation will be from 3 pm to 5pm prior to the service. Memorial donations may be made to Heritage Hospice, Inc., Danville-Boyle County Humane Society, Danville-Boyle County Parks and Recreation, or Danville Boyle County Trails Alliance.
