William Richard "Rick" Whitten was received by his heavenly father on June 15, 2025, after a long illness.
He was cared for at home by his loving wife of 36 years, Tara Marie Whitten. Born on July 6, 1956, in Springfield, MA, His home has been Port St. Lucie, FL for over 36 years.
Rick was predeceased by his parents, Ralph Henry Whitten Jr, and Shirley Mae Pappas, his sister Candace Margaret Whitten, and brothers-in-law Wayne Latos and Thomas Allis.
Rick is survived by his daughter Tania Mejia (Raul) of Boston, MA, brother Brian (Laura) Whitten, sisters Debbie Lynn Allis and Brenda Lee Whitten and sisters-in-law Marla Crane, Moira Latos and mother-in-law Georgette Hill.
Rick was a Viet Nam era Navy veteran and worked in the construction industry for over 40 years.
Donations can be made in his name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
Rick and Tara worship at Morning Side Church. A Celebration of Life will be held at Haisley Funeral Home at 2041 SW Bayshore Boulevard, Port St. Lucie, FL. 34984, on Friday June 27 from 3:00 - 6:00 PM. Burial will be at South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth, Florida.
