Rickey Chaney Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Holland Funeral Directors - Tupelo Chapel on Feb. 3, 2026.
Plantersville-Rickey Dale Chaney met his Heavenly Father in the early morning hours of Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026 from Diversicare Health and Rehab Center on Eason, where he had resided the last 4 years. Born in Tupelo on January 27, 1973 to the late Jerry Dale Chaney and the late Patricia Brown Chaney, Rickey lived most all his life in the Plantersville area where he was known for his kindness and generous spirit. He spent much of his working life in home construction and renovation and was an ace house painter. Later in his life as his health failed, he resided at Riverbirch before needing long-term care. Rickey loved the outdoors, especially fishing and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. The family thanks the staff a Riverbirch, Diversicare and Gentiva Hospice for their love and watch care of Rickey in his time of illness. After the untimely death of Rickey's parents, he was raised by his Aunt, Nita Ann Chaney Jones and his Uncle, Don Jones in their home. He enjoyed activities growing up in the First Baptist Church-Plantersville, was saved there and found his trust and faith in God through the ministries of the Church.
