Rickey “Rick” H. Dilloway
Rick Dilloway, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, in Somerset, Texas after a hard-fought and courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his sons, Kenneth Dilloway and his wife Elizabeth Dilloway, Chris Dilloway and his wife Teresa Dilloway, Michael Dilloway and his wife Mariana Luna, Richard Dilloway and his wife Sophie Gauna. He is also survived by his daughter Rhonda Gil and husband Roger Gil as well as multiple Grandchildren Stephen Dilloway, Samantha Dilloway, Desiree Jones, Eric Dilloway, Jordan Keeney, Justin Keeney, Christopher Dilloway Jr., Kaylyn Thibideau, Connor Dilloway, Kristen Ostermeier, Haley Kahn, Dustin Kutch, Hailey Dilloway, Taylor Dilloway, Cody Dilloway, Janessa Garcia, Jezelle Garcia, Juliana Garcia, Austin Gil, and Tyler Gil. Rick is also survived by his Sister Marilyn Clifford, Brother Cary Dilloway, and multiple other great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rick was preceded in death by, his Wife, Cathleen Dilloway, Daughter Lisa Jenks, father, Harold “Sparky” Dilloway, and Mother Grace Dilloway.
Rick was born on June 30, 1947, in Michigan City, Indiana, to parents, Harold and Grace Dilloway. Rick joined the United States Army in 1968 where he proudly served his Country before leaving the Army due to a hardship. After leaving the Army Rick spent many years working in construction before finding his true calling which was serving his community as a Law Enforcement Officer. Rick served with the Bexar County Sheriff's Office, Bexar County Constables Office Precinct 5 (now decommissioned), and ultimately retired from the Bexar County Hospital District Police Department. After retiring Rick spent a short time working part-time with the Somerset I.S.D. Police Department.
In his spare time, Rick loved traveling, coin collecting, keeping up with politics, woodworking, and even building a lot of the furniture inside his home. What he loved most was spending time with his beloved family and dogs. Rick was deeply loved and will be truly missed by all.
The family will receive family and friends from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm., on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Primrose Funeral Home. Immediately after this viewing Rick will be transported to and interred with Military Honors at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery (There will not be a procession to the Cemetery, everyone is to meet at Shelter #5 in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery by 1:40 P.M.). Pallbearers will be Kenneth Dilloway, Michael Dilloway, Richard Dilloway, Stephen Dilloway, Jon Dilloway, and Roger Gil. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tyler Gil, Austin Gil, and Cody Dilloway.
