Ricky L. Barker

Ricky Lynn Barker, 65, passed peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on September 29, 2022. He was saved in 1974 and was a lifelong member and deacon of Little Barren Missionary Baptist Church. He was a lifetime member of the Union County Rescue Squad since 1978 and a founding member of the South Claiborne Volunteer Fire Department since 1996. Recently, he was proudly elected by his community to serve as a second district county commissioner.

Father and mother-in-law: Clyde and Elizabeth Robertson
Brother-in-law: Kenny Bevill
He is survived by his:
Wife of 46 years, Diane Barker
Sons Chris and Ernie (Haley) Barker
Grandsons: Rylan and Deegan Barker
Brother: Kenny Barker,
Sister: Missy Barker
Sisters-in-law: Gail Barker, Libby Barker, and Sandy Bevill
And many other loved relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 3, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 pm with the funeral service to follow in the Claiborne -Overholt Funeral Home Chapel.
Graveside service will take place at Fairview Cemetery on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 11:00 am. The procession will leave from Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home.
