Boyd Estil Manning age 87 was born December 22, 1938, in Middlesboro, KY. died Monday January 19, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Agnes Brooks Manning, sister and brother-in-law Sharon and Charles Alva Chadwell, daughter Valerie Manning, daughter-in-law Kim Manning, granddaughter Nicole McConnell and his cousin Bobby Manning, who was like a brother.

Boyd is survived by his wife of nearly 55 years Bonnie Hill Manning, son Dwayne Manning of Columbus, Ohio, daughter Stephanie Manning Halverson of Tazewell, TN. sister Debra Hooper and husband Jim of Mt. Juliet TN., and sister-in-law Carolyn Ashton Hill of Moorpark, CA., eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; scores of dear cousins, nieces and nephews.

Boyd was a graduate of Thomas Walker High School and entered into the United States Air Force at the age of 18. He served in the USAF and the Air National Guard for 25 years, serving in several countries including Korea, Okinawa, Japan, and Greenland. He served for many years at the Rickenbacker AFB in Columbus, Ohio, where his children were born.

He and his wife Bonnie moved back to care for the family farm in 1980. He was a member of The Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ and served Him as a Trustee, Song Leader, Choir Director, and he formed the Mt. Zion Singers. They traveled and sang for many years. He was also a member of the Cumberland Gap Association Disaster Relief. He also served as the President of the Hancock County Historical Society and was very involved in the restoration of the old Hancock County Jail. He enjoyed history, especially his family and area history. He loved family reunions and he had a quick wit and charming personality. He was loved by many and was a good caring soul.

The family will receive friends Monday January 26, 2026, from 4:00pm till 6:00pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday January 27, 2026, at 11:00am at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Travis Pressnell and Pastor Rev. Kenny Williams officiating. Graveside services will follow the funeral with Full Military Honors at the Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Dwayne Manning, Andrew McConnell, Jonathan Halverson, Tom Hopkins, Rick Collins and Terry Collins.

Honorary Pallbearers: Oscar Pillion, Robert Sowder, and Bill Surber.
