Ricky Bowling Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center on Apr. 8, 2025.
Ricky "Ray" Bowling left this world on April 5, 2025, and went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Ray was a proud member of One Christian Church, his love for animals, especially dogs and reptiles, was evident to all who knew him. An avid Braves fan and passionate baseball card collector, he found joy in the sport and its memorabilia. He embraced the great outdoors, enjoying camping, fishing, and beach vacations. His niece and nephews held a special place in his heart, and he treasured the time spent with them. Above all, his daughter was his world. He was known for his witty charm and sense of humor, bringing laughter to those around him. He loved hanging out with friends, cheering on IU basketball, attending concerts, and watching his favorite shows, Seinfeld and The Simpson's. Ray attended Southport High School, class of '99 and attended Indiana University. Ray had been employed with Interstate Parking for the past nine years.

Ray was blessed with a large and loving family. He is survived by his beloved Mother Carol Bowling, his cherished Daughter Ruby Bowling, his Sister Sarah Bangel (Brent), Nephews and Niece Brody, Brady, Braley Bangel, Aunt and Uncle David and Stephanie Harman, Aunt Connie Hendricks, Uncle and Aunt- Arnold and Sandy Haggard, and his former wife Katie Poston. Ricky was preceded in passing by his grandparents Jack and Aileen Harman.

Although Ray passed way to soon, he gave the gift of life through the donation of his organs so that the recipients may live life to the fullest.

Service for Ray will be 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 11, 2025, at One Christian Church, 2578 Donica Road, Greenwood, Indiana 46143 with calling from 4:00p.m. until the hour of service.

Shocked to hear about your passing. We have been friends since 1990. Growing up in the same neighborhood and playing sports together as kids. Always fun when we were together. I'm going to miss you bub. One of a kind, rest easy my friend. I'll see you again some day.

I am so sad to hear about Ray. I met him at my job with the Clerk's Office. He would come in and file cases almost every day. He always brightened my day. He had a great sense of humor and he had a twinkle in his eye! I wish peace for all his friends and family. Especially Ruby. He talked about her all the time. Jennifer Piazza.

I worked with Ray in the early 2000´s in the legal industry. Later on during his time at Interstate parking, I would stop in to check on him and chat a little. He had an Infectious smile that I will miss.

Ray, you were such a great addition to our family. We will always have fond memories of sharing time with you on our family outings. I think the best compliment I ever got came from you. We were at the Little Little League, and they were asking for a team mom. You were standing beside me, reached over, grabed my hand and raised it, and said Kathy will do it, she does everything. It meant so much to me for you to know that I was always there if you needed me. You were one of my boys.
