Ricky J. Cook of Riverview Drive passed away at home on Thursday, September 18, 2025 with his loving family at his side. He was 65 years old.
Born in Troy on June 17, 1960, son of Alfred and Donna Lee (Madigan) Cook. He is the husband of Teresa "Terri" (Fitch) Cook whom he married on October 13, 1999.
Ricky proudly served in the Marine Corp. and following his service, he worked as an accountant for the New York State Assembly. He was a member of the US Marine Association, an active member of the Rensselaer County Historical Society and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and the Pittsburgh Steelers and enjoyed watching sports.
Survivors in addition to his wife Terri include his children, McCartney L. Cook and Donna Kathleen Cook, his siblings, Joseph Cook and his children Nathan, Tyler and Leanna Cook and Shawn (Yiona Bersabel) Cook and his child Tomiko Cook, and her mother Aiko. Also survived by uncles and aunts Gene and Julie Cook, Max and Joan Koch, Ann Cook as well as several other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephew, extended family, friends and Marine Corp buddies.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by and infant sister, Melinda.
Visiting will be on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 from 11:00am – 12:00pm at Transfiguration Parish, 17 S. Main St., Schaghticoke. Funeral Mass will be at 12:00 with inurnment at 2pm in the Saratoga National Cemetery with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation to the Rensselaer Community Hospice or Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital in memory of Ricky Cook.
