Ricky Counts Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Foreman Brown-Service Funeral Home, Inc. - Andalusia on Jan. 8, 2026.
Mr. Ricky Alden Counts, 73, of Andalusia, Alabama, passed from this life on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at his home.
Funeral services for Mr. Counts will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Foreman Funeral Home, with Bro. Josh Wilson and Ken Mancill officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.
Ricky was a proud United States Navy veteran, serving his country for six years from 1971 until 1977. He attended Greenville High School and carried with him a lifelong love of learning and discipline that helped shape the man he became. A self-taught guitar player, Ricky found great joy in music and faithfully shared his talent through Southside Baptist Church of Andalusia, where he was actively involved and played guitar in the church praise band.
He had a deep appreciation for history, particularly wars and Native American heritage, and could often be found reading and reflecting on the past. Ricky also loved the outdoors, where he found peace and happiness. His life was marked by service, faith, curiosity, and a genuine love for music and nature.
Mr. Counts is survived by his wife of 19 years, Mrs. Elaine Meadows Counts; his children, Tracy (Shannon) Posey and Chris (Tina) Counts; his grandchildren, Bianca Spencer and Avery Counts; his brother, Steve (Amy) Counts; his stepsons, Jeff (Tanya) Mancil and Ken (Amy) Mancill; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents; A.C. and Mahlon Counts.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Carrie, Patricia, and the staff of Dayspring Hospice for the wonderful care they provided.
