Ricky Wayne Hopkins

Ricky Wayne Hopkins, age 64, went home to be with the Lord on September 4, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on May 27, 1961, to Billy and Shirley Hopkins, and lived a life marked by dedication, hard work, and deep love for his family and friends.

Ricky was a devoted husband to Lesa Hopkins for 36 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Wayne Hopkins.

He was a loving father to Brian Banter (Danyelle Banter), Alicia Mitchell (JT Pickle), and Jessica Bullard (Christopher Trommelen). He was also a proud grandfather to Taylor Embry (AJ Embry), Cody Bullard, Zack Banter, Rachael Banter, Peyton Mitchell, Anakin Starkie, Vera Ingram, and Easton Pickle. And great-grandfather to Oakley Embry.

He is also survived by his mother, Shirley Hopkins; his sister, Amanda Leavins (Stephen Leavins), along with many, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

From a young age, Ricky worked alongside his father, building a foundation of responsibility and skill that shaped his strong work ethic throughout his life. He spent many years at Heaton Brothers, Classic Home Builders, and ultimately concluded his career at Webb Electric Company of Florida. No matter the job, Ricky was known as a loyal, hardworking, and dependable employee who always gave his best.

Outside of work, Ricky found peace and joy in the outdoors. He had a lifelong passion for hunting and fishing, often finding solace in nature and the simplicity it offered. He was also a proud Scottish Right Mason with the Masonic Lodge #349 of Pace Florida, living his life with integrity and brotherhood.

Ricky's strength, generosity, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and those whose lives he touched.

A funeral service for Ricky Hopkins will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Lewis Funeral Home Pace Chapel, 4777 West Spencer Field Road, Pace, Florida 32571 with visitation from 11:00-12:00 p.m. and service at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be at Elizabeth Chapel.

Pallbearers will be Brian Banter, Zack Banter, Stephen Leavins, Mike Bodie, James Herbert, and Danny Webb. Honorary pallbearers are Cody Bullard, Anakin Starkie, Peyton Mitchell, and Rick Faciane.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the many prayers, love, and support shown during this time. Your kindness and encouragement are a blessing and comfort.
