Ricky Maness Obituary
Ricky Jerry Maness, age 65, of Star passed away November 6, 2025 at Montgomery Senior Living. He was born March 19, 1960 in Moore County, North Carolina the son of the late Curtis Maness and Sylvia Helms Farlow. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Maness.
Ricky lived a life that touched the hearts of all who knew him. A man of deep faith and unwavering kindness, Ricky's presence was a source of warmth and inspiration to those around him. His love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for gardening, where he found peace among nature and was nicknamed "Cowboy Rick". To his family, Ricky was not just a beloved brother and uncle, but someone truly special. They often said, "He was special and special to us," capturing the essence of the love and admiration they held for him. His gentle spirit and caring nature left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. He attended Tabernacle United Church whenever he could, embodying a faith that guided him throughout his life. Now, he rests peacefully, dwelling with the Lord, and his memory will continue to inspire those who carry his legacy of kindness and love. Though he has departed from this world, Ricky's soul remains in the hearts of those he held dear, reminding us of the power of a life lived with grace and compassion.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Annette Maness of Siler City, NC; son, James Maness of Siler City, NC; sisters, Nellie Hinson of Biscoe, NC, Diane Hernandez of CT, and Sandra Moore of Robbins, NC; nephews, Kelly Ritter, Brian Maness, Cody Moore, and Juan Diego Rivera; nieces, Tabitha Bates, Heather Fowler, and Wynonna Moore; several great nephews and nieces; and numerous other beloved family and friends.
The family will hold a celebration of life at 11AM on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at the Tabernacle United Methodist Church itn the Fellowship Hall, 251 NC 705 HWY, Robbins NC 27325.
The family would like to thank the staff of Montgomery Senior Care and Hospice of the Piedmont for their compassionate care of Ricky.
