Ricky Brian Northrup, known affectionately as Rick to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025, at the age of 67, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Born on February 18, 1958, in the humble town of Alma, Michigan, Rick was a beacon of loving kindness that deeply touched all those fortunate enough to have known him.
Rick's life was marked by the warmth and compassion he extended towards others, which were the cornerstones of the strong relationships he built throughout his journey. His infectious smile and genuine concern for the wellbeing of those around him left an indelible impression on the community that he held so dear.
As the loving brother of Randy (and wife Deborah) Northrup, Rick shared a bond of brotherly love that served as a testament to their family's close-knit nature. He is also survived by his two daughters, Sam Barth and Mandy. Though his parents, Robert and Laura (Miller) Northrup, and brother Kevin Northrup predeceased him, the family finds comfort in knowing that Rick has been reunited with them in eternal peace.
Rick's life story cannot be told without acknowledging his unwaveringly kind and loving nature. Colleagues became friends, and friends became family under his gentle influence. A firm believer in giving without expectation of return, Rick uplifted countless lives through simple acts of generosity and his ever-present optimism.
