Ricky Shears Obituary
February 13, 2026, at the UVM Health Network, CVPH, in Plattsburgh, with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Brunswick, Maine, September 19, 1966, the son of Richard and Mary Ann (Swartzentruber) Shears.
Ricky was the maintenance supervisor for the Town of Westport Highway Department, for more than 20 years, retiring in May of 2025.
He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling.
Left to cherish his memory are, his loving wife of 26 years, Jacqueline Shears; his mother, Mary Ann Johnston; stepfather, Dale; sisters, Lisa McBride (Gary), and Laura Dorris; step-brothers, Randy Johnston (Sherry), and Jay (Tina); step-sister, Tammy Johnston; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father.
There will be no services per his wishes.
Donations in memory of Ricky Shears may be made to local cancer foundations or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru, 518-643-9055.
