Ricky H. Smith, of Conyers, passed away on July 21, 2024, at the age of 71. He was a faithful member of Full Gospel Holiness Church in Monroe. Mr. Smith graduated from Newton High School. After graduation, he began working at Griffith Laboratories (now known as Griffith Foods), where he was employed for 49 years. In his younger days, Mr. Smith was an avid bowler and softball player. In later years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed cheering for his favorite sports teams, the Atlanta Falcons, the Ga. Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves. Mr. Smith was loved by all who knew him.
Preceding him in death were his parents, William and Gladys Smith. Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Patricia Smith; daughter, Krystal Rutledge; son, Brian (Kim) Smith; grandchildren, Angie and Paul Jay Smith, Breanna, Samantha, and Makayla Boozer; siblings, Carol (Marvin) Smith Rhear of Cumming, Gerald (Pam) Smith of Rogersville, AL, and Donald (Barbara) Smith of Madison; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services for Mr. Smith will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at Full Gospel Holiness Church, 3170 Hwy. 138 NW, in Monroe. Reverend Larry Carter will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:30-11:00 AM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Full Gospel Holiness Church.
